If you're a healthcare professional trying to get licensed in the UAE or Gulf countries, this post is for you.
One of the most confusing issues we’ve seen lately is this:
"I did my paramedical or allied health degree full-time… so why is Dataflow report saying it’s distance education?"
This problem is affecting hundreds, and it’s stopping many from getting licensed in the Gulf region (DHA, DoH etc.)
Let’s break down the reality. 👇
🔍 The Real Reason – And It’s Not Your Fault
Many students enroll in what appears to be a regular, full-time course:
You attended physical classes
You completed lab works
You received a degree from a university
BUT… here’s the problem:
🏫 The study center you attended is NOT officially affiliated with the university issuing the degree.
These centers operate as “coaching providers” or “local hubs” for distance learning, even though they offer full-time-looking programs.
➡️ When Dataflow verifies your degree, they contact the university
If the university doesn’t confirm the college affiliated or course as full-time, they may mark the degree as distance education.
And Gulf health authorities do not accept distance education for licensing. ❌
❗ What This Means for You
If you already completed such a program:
⚠️ You may not be eligible for licensing under DHA, DoH etc
🧾 Even years of experience may not compensate for a degree that’s considered invalid under verification.
At Leadvice, we’ve seen how heartbreaking this is – especially for professionals who’ve worked hard for years.

If you’re about to enroll in a allied health course, do this before paying anything:
✅ Ask for the university affiliation letter of the college
✅ Check the college name on the university’s official website if it is affiliated
✅ Verify whether the course is approved for regular (non-distance) delivery
✅ Be extra cautious with private universities, which often cannot legally affiliate external colleges
Don’t rely solely on what the institute claims. Do your own homework – or let us do it for you.
